1 day conservation workshop

Three separate one-day bespoke courses were held (April, June, August 2013), aimed at owners of listed, period historical homes, tradespeople, architects and local organisations in the City of Onkaparinga Council area to teach basic conservation and restoration skills.  The courses were funded by Skills for All and the City of Onkaparinga.  

The course included both practical and theoretical training and participants were provided with comprehensive notes to assist them in future work. 

The subjects covered in the three courses included

 ·        Stone undersetting

·       Lime mortars, their preparation and use

·        Solid lime rendering

·        Salt damp remediation

·        Repointing techniques

·        Lime washing.

 Sauerbier’s House is an ongoing project, but work on the stables and outside toilet was completed during the courses.
